IHBC’s ‘Heritage from the House’: So what do MPs think of ‘beauty and the built environment’ – As Vaizey asks ‘Could a heritage listing be given to some of our great cities and towns, to preserve them?’!

Houses of Parliament courtesy of UK GovAs Ed Vaizey – self described as ‘…the Minister who listed Preston bus station to much anger, [and is] delighted that it is now treasured by the local community’, and (invoking parliamentary privilege presumably) arch-critic of ‘the terrible homes being built by Linden Homes…’ – suggests that we might list entire urban areas to protect them, a Parliamentary debate on ‘beauty and the built environment’ might even inspire some hope in our advocacy of conservation and design!
