Civic Voice has reported on a case that may represent wider heritage-related concerns across its membership, as it seeks to find out more about the scale of historic ‘stone walls and pillars being demolished to provide access for parking in front gardens’.

Weston-super-Mare Civic Society has been in touch with Civic Voice as they are concerned about the number of stone walls and pillars being demolished to provide access for parking in front gardens. North Somerset Council are unclear about the situation, an example is given above. The left hand photo shows the original configuration and the right the result after demolition.
The society asks, ‘Is this something other civic societies are finding?’
