[and]… people working in, giving service to and/or who have a disability…

Sarah Healey writes:

I am writing to seek your help in identifying candidates from within your sector for consideration to be recognised amongst the 2022 New Year Honours.

It takes a wide range of extraordinary people across the UK to make our sectors the great success they are. We are heavily reliant on the continued support of organisations, like yours, to help us ensure that the efforts of these people are rewarded and celebrated. As we are all aware, it has been an extraordinary and challenging year with many people making incredible personal contributions to keep this country going. For this round, we would particularly welcome nominations for individuals who have been innovative and creative in helping DCMS sectors restart and recover from the C-19 pandemic.

We want to ensure that our lists reflect the diversity of society and the extraordinary contributions made across every part of the country. We greatly appreciate the continued efforts being made to increase the number of nominations for those who continue to be underrepresented i.e. women and black and ethnic minorities (BAME) and from parts of the country often overlooked. The only way to ensure that these candidates are fully represented on any honours list is for us to continue to receive those nominations. For the New Year 2022 round we would welcome nominations for people working in, giving service to and/or who have a disability.

If you would like to nominate someone, including for Covid-19 recognition, please complete the attached form and submit it to honours@dcms.gov.uk by 16 April . You will note that the nomination form remains the same as in recent rounds. As usual we will still need the nominee’s full name, date of birth, address and contact details in order to progress the nomination .

The DCMS Honours Team are on hand to answer any queries you may have about this or any aspect of the honours process at honours@dcms.gov.uk.
