…first General Meeting of 2021 and our first new Council…

IHBC Chair David McDonald said: ‘Trustees have decided to take early advantage of our new constitutional arrangements to host together the first General Meeting of 2021 and our first new Council, with both open and free to IHBC members of all categories.’

… General Meeting will clarify our capacity to work digitally…

‘The meetings offer members the chance to hear about and respond to the IHBC’s recent progress and plans as well as gain CPD hours.’

… vote adopting a constitutional amendment…. very important to help us move past the pandemic…

‘The General Meeting will clarify our capacity to work digitally with a vote adopting a constitutional amendment devised by our solicitors.  Clearly that vote is very important to help us move past the pandemic successfully.’

‘All eligible members are called on to vote, most simply using the now-familiar SHORT PROXY FORM, and help streamline these essential procedures.’

… Council will feature practice-based insights…

IHBC President Mike Brown said: ‘The General Meeting will be followed by an open Council meeting – again with members of all categories encouraged to attend.’

‘The Council will feature practice-based insights to the work of some of the IHBC’s most senior officers.’

‘We will use these to explain and explore the new role for the Council under our modernised constitution. ‘

…Council can now serve as a more representative platform…

‘Our Council can now serve as a more representative platform for members than our previous arrangements ever could offer.’

‘Under the new constitution Council is represented first by the IHBC’s President, so I am especially keen that we find the best way to  move forward.’
