… consistency and passion of its expert members…

… make a positive and thoughtful contribution…

UK’s Real Estate Investment and Investment Forum writes:

The HS2 Independent Design Panel has been working with HS2 Ltd for more than five years, holding to account the leadership, project teams and partners.

Now it wants to expand the panel and is particularly interested in hearing from disabled people, women and people from black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds.

Prof Sadie Morgan, Chair of the HS2 Independent Design Panel, said: “The success of the Independent Design Panel is in small measure down to the consistency and passion of its expert members.”

“While we look to retain the knowledge that the panel has built since it was formed in 2015, I am pleased to announce this opportunity for new members to join.

“We are looking for people whose practical experience will add to the panel’s expertise and make a positive and thoughtful contribution to the exciting – and sometimes challenging – topics and projects ahead.”

The areas of expertise that are of particular interest are:

• Architecture
• Sustainability
• Landscape architecture
• Masterplanning and urban design
• Civil and structural engineering
• Railway operations
• Commercial development
• Inclusive design

Kay Hughes, Design Director at HS2 Ltd, said: “Meeting the scale of the design challenge across HS2 is a world class endeavour, which requires the combined expertise and experience of multiple teams.

“HS2 wants to achieve the highest standards in design, and it values the contribution of the design panel members in providing advice and supporting the programme to achieve those high standards.”

Those who wish to apply should email HS2@frame-projects.co.uk for a recruitment pack and application form. Applications will be considered by Frame Projects together with the chair of the panel, Prof. Sadie Morgan, vice chair Tony Burton, and HS2 Ltd staff.

The closing date for applications is May 10 (5pm).
