…fees from £20….bursaries available…

It is intended to help conservation professionals understand some of the structural engineering problems and solutions which historic buildings might have.  The sessions will attempt to put conservation professionals in a position to hold informed discussions with project structural engineers, some of whom may not be particularly familiar with the constraints which conservation might put on their structural solutions.

Presenter:

Ian Hume is a Conservation Accredited Structural Engineer having spent over 40 years dealing with structural matters relating to a wide range of historic structures and ancient monuments.  He was the Head of the Conservation Engineering team at English Heritage (now Historic England) before becoming a sole practitioner for 10 years.  Ian has published a number of papers and has lectured widely on conservation engineering matters.
