Inclusive Employers writes:
Every year National Inclusion Week has a theme and in 2021 it is about unity. By participating in Inclusion Week you are joining the Inclusive Employers team and thousands of inclusioneers worldwide as we take action to be #UnitedForInclusion.
In 2020, 16 million of participants connected with us via #NationalInclusionWeek2020, embracing the theme ‘Each One, Reach One’. #UnitedForInclusion is an evolution of the 2020 theme and of the connections that were made.
We want to become a force for change and action. At Inclusive Employers, we believe that we can do this by uniting to share learning, best practice, successes and challenges. We will unite in our teams and organisations, and most powerfully as participants of Inclusion Week. We will be #UnitedForInclusion.
Responding to the challenges of 2020
The challenges of 2020 – the pandemic, the call for action on anti-racism following the murder of George Floyd – have had a lasting impact. We want to use our #UnitedForInclusion theme and create a platform to work together. By working together we can be most effective in our response to these challenges.
We will have open conversations. They may be challenging and uncomfortable, but they will drive change and inspire action. Change and action are vital in our mission to make inclusion an everyday reality.
You can get involved in Inclusion Week 2021 by registering as a National Inclusion Week participant. Registration gives you access to the Toolkit which contains all the resources you need to plan and organise your own inspiring Inclusion Week activities and events. The Toolkit will be added to over the comings weeks and months.
We are always inspired by the way Inclusive Employers Members and participating organisations bring Inclusion Week to life. The Toolkit will help you consider how you can use the #UnitedForInclusion week theme to shape your organisations Inclusion Week events and ask you to consider questions including:
- What best practice can you share
- What challenges do you have to learn from?
- What steps can you take to overcome them?
As the founders and organisers of Inclusion Week, Inclusive Employers will be supporting you to celebrate the week with a series of ‘Getting Ready’ webinars and newsletters, as we build up to the main event, 27 September-3 October. The events programme will be announced in the coming weeks!
