IHBC@COP26 promoted to 15K registered users of the UK’s ‘construction wiki’: Designing Buildings

The IHBC@CP26 Conservation Helpdesk+ service has been added to the open resources of Designing Buildings (formerly Designing Buildings Wiki), and featured on its twice-weekly digital Newsletter to the 15000 registered users of the ‘construction wiki’.

…we’re open to enquiries on all aspects of conserving buildings and places across the entire COP26 period…

DB writes:

From 31 October 2021 until 12 November 2021, the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) will be providing a virtual ‘Conservation Helpdesk’ during COP26. The online service is intended to support those across the COP26 network who may have questions about conserving buildings or places while helping to conserve the planet.

Open access
The Conservation Helpdesk will accept questions any time during COP26 through email IHBCHelpdesk@ihbc.org.uk or the Twitter hashtag, #IHBCHelpdesk.

IHBC Director Sean O’Reilly says, ‘Our Conservation Helpdesk is very exciting, as it will be open to anyone, anywhere, on each day of the COP26, and for as long as capacity allows. This means we’re open to enquiries on all aspects of conserving buildings and places across the entire COP26 period, even when hosting feature and partner events.’

Active hours
Active hours for the Conservation Helpdesk will take place from 3pm to 8pm local time each day. Additional activities will be scheduled during this period as well.

Free programme highlights for the active hours include networking opportunities and themed Helpdesk+ sessions hosted by IHBC conservation partners. Dedicated climate-linked conservation advice and learning programmes are tentatively planned. IHBC@COP26 Podcasts, featuring videos, training and guidance, will also be available.
