IHBC@COP26 Helpdesk+ signpost: COP26 looks back at what was achieved

The IHBC@COP26 is signposting COP26’s take on what was achieved before it closed, after publishing its own observations on ways forward with ‘Some observations on moving forward after COP26!

… Glasgow Climate Pact …. means that 1.5C remains in sight, but it will only be delivered with concerted and immediate global efforts…

COP26 writes:

The 197 Parties agreed the Glasgow Climate Pact to keep 1.5C alive, finalise the outstanding elements of the Paris Agreement and work with consensus to urgently accelerate climate action.

The Glasgow Climate Pact, combined with increased ambition and action from countries, means that 1.5C remains in sight, but it will only be delivered with concerted and immediate global efforts.

‘We can now say with credibility that we have kept 1.5 degrees alive. But, its pulse is weak and it will only survive if we keep our promises and translate commitments into rapid action. I am grateful to the UNFCCC for working with us to deliver a successful COP26.’

The COP26 website has all of the statements and declarations are the high-level outcomes from the World Leaders Summit and presidency theme days of the two-week programme of COP26.
