Richard Rogers, one of UK’s most celebrated post-war architects, has died, aged 88.

Rogers was a ground-breaking architect best-known for his Pompidou Centre, which he designed with Renzo Piano, as well as Lloyd’s of London Building, the Cheesegrater and the Millennium Dome.

Rogers was born in Italy in 1933 and moved to the UK six years later. He studied at Yale University in the US in the early 1960s, where he met his friend and collaborator Norman Foster. He went on to found Richard Rogers Partnership, now known as Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP), in 1977.
