IHBC features ‘Heritage from the doorstep’: Preston’s former orphanage – views from before the blaze

The Grade II-listed former St Joseph’s Orphanage in Preston city centre as it appeared before the recent fire has been featured by LancsLive.

Eerie pictures show the condition of the abandoned St Joseph’s Orphanage before it all went up in flames….

… services rushed to the building on Mount Street after a fire spread through the historic building on Friday night (May 13)…

No injuries were reported…

A urban explorer, who goes under the name of Lost Places and Forgotten Faces, visited the derelict building in January 2021… and took the opportunity to take some images.

… One picture shows old mattresses piled high and broken wheelchairs located in various rooms in the building – one of which is placed next to a pair of slippers.
