The IHBC’s new-styled, easy access CPD Circular for September is out, with Awards and School signposts, alongside events, research, awards (‘Student’ + ‘Research’) and more, all in line with our 25th anniversary ambitions for IHBC25.

CPD opportunities abound this autumn as events in-person and virtual alike fill the calendar through to the festive season. IHBC Branches especially show a pronounced rebound from the pandemic, though be sure to contact your local branch for opportunities to help if you can spare it. The Wales Branch in particular is gearing up for next summer’s Annual School in Swansea with a series of events focused on technical aspects of conservation, the first of which focuses on Retrofitting Historic Buildings for Energy Efficiency taking place on 5 September at Plas Mawr.
We also continue our efforts to signpost relevant sectoral research and guidance. The new joint position statement – ‘Investigation of moisture and its effects on traditional buildings’ has the potential to make significant positive change to the way buildings are inspected and the IHBC is a proud supporting partner of it – see HERE. Look for its formal release at the PCA Conference 2022 later this month. Also we highlight two journal articles relating to the views and attitudes of residents when it comes to the retrofitting of residential heritage buildings.
