The IHBC is marking our 25th anniversary across this subscription year, from April 2022 to March 2023, and as part of looking back – and forward – we’re celebrating some of the free IHBC ‘jewels’ that help members and the wider sector contribute to our charitable objects – supporting built and historic environment conservation across the UK and beyond – with this post featuring our IHBC free
…IHBC’s NewsBlog Service…. really got going in 2008, as our online archive demonstrates..
IHBC Director Seán O’Reilly said: ‘The IHBC’s NewsBlog service started gently in 2007 with a post on the then CABE, which you can check HERE. But it only really got going in 2008, as our online archive demonstrates. You can explore this easily as it is linked through the calendar on the right of the NewsBlog Homepage.’
‘The service now serves as our de facto member communications and press hub, with some 20+ headlines across our two email alerts a week.
‘Today, as an open-access resource for current IHBC and sector news, the free and open-access news service and alert updates reaches far beyond our members and the 25,000 structured links on networks. You can see how much wider our reach is now on our Conservation Wiki, for example, which targets construction-sector users.
