IHBC’s Context archive update: All issues now open to search online – ‘a new resource for conservation practice, history and insights’

The IHBC’s online archive of our in-house journal Context has seen its biggest upgrade in recent years, with the rescanning of Issues 1-73 – from February 1983 to March 2002 – to make them fully searchable online as ‘FlippingBooks’.

… upgrading the earliest of our issues of Context…

IHBC Director Seán O’Reilly said: ‘Our lead IT consultant Peter Badcock has been working away on a critical but time-consuming task for the IHBC: making our unique history even more accessible online to all!’

‘Peter has finished upgrading the earliest of our issues of Context, from the classic, ground-breaking and house-saving issue No 1 – from 1983 – to Issue 73 from March 2002 and its even more topical interrogation of natural and built environment care and conservation standards.

… search facility on the archive page can be used to find key words…

Now the search facility on the archive page can be used to find key words on these early issues, to creating a whole new resource for conservation practice, history and insights from the 80s to the noughties.’

‘This means anyone seeking more about the pre-history, history and heritage of the IHBC – not least from our days as the old ACO (Association of Conservation Officers) – can easily access our most important record.’
