IHBC North Branch Chair Oonagh Cranley said: ‘We are looking forward to rounding off a successful year of events with friends, colleagues and members old and new – we hope to see you there!’

IHBC’s North Branch writes:

You are warmly invited to join us for our Christmas Social and Festive CPD event at the Black Gate, Newcastle. We will be treated to a talk and workshop from our Castle Keep hosts where we will learn all about medieval Christmas traditions followed by a private tour of the Castle Keep.

For those who aren’t familiar with Newcastle’s medieval history, the Castle Keep was built for King Henry II between 1172 and 1178, replacing an earlier wooden structure. The Black Gate was the barbican added between 1247 and 1250 on the orders of King Henry III.

This is the perfect venue to cosy up with a mulled wine and mince pie for some light-hearted CPD and socialising. We will be providing a light buffet with plenty of festive drinks and treats.

We look forward to celebrating this final event of 2023 with friends, colleagues and members old and new – hope to see you there!
