RAAC discovered in 18 Scottish universities and colleges

Potentially dangerous reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) has now been found in the buildings of 18 universities and colleges in Scotland.

The Scottish Funding Council writes:

This is the current position regarding the presence of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) in Scottish college and university estate. It is based on data provided by colleges and universities in response to SFC’s RAAC questionnaires.

Institutions are at different stages in the process of identifying RAAC and assessing its condition, so the full extent of exposure and required remedial works is not yet fully known. We will update this page as new information becomes available….

We are aware of RAAC being present in buildings across 18 institutions:
