… hard to find a better way to pick up valuable CPD…

IHBC South Branch Chair Alison Davidson said: ‘It would be hard to find a better way to pick up valuable CPD than to sign up for this year’s IHBC Annual School.

‘Located so centrally and with easy transport links, the logistics of attending in person haven’t been better for many years, and the benefits of being able to converse face to face with your colleagues and associates are enormous.’

‘Reading, as a focus of our intricately planned tours has so much more to offer than you might have thought too!  Known for its beer, biscuits and bulbs – ‘the three Bs’ – Reading has a strong industrial heritage and today is a vibrant, metropolitan town offering great shopping and business opportunities, a growing arts and culture scene, and plenty of historic buildings to marvel over. Many attractions are easily walkable, and others are not far from the centre.’

… this CPD opportunity shouldn’t be missed.  Whether you join us on-line or meet up in person…

‘But if you can’t make it here in person, why not sign up for the virtual day school which provides a packed day of presentations from some of the sector’s most influential and experienced speakers. The entire school hones in on Competences that, I know, that even experienced members find difficult to secure – Legislation & Policy and Finance & Economics –  both of which lie at the heart of our Management Area of Competence.’

‘That is why this CPD opportunity shouldn’t be missed.  Whether you join us on-line or meet up in person are you heading to Reading in June?’

English Heritage Chair, Gerard Lemos CMG CBE will open the IHBC’s Reading Day School on 14 June.

IHBC Chair David McDonald said: ‘Having the Chair of one of the most substantial heritage estate holders in England at our School is wonderful news at any time, but this year it is especially relevant for our focus on understanding and improving how we work with buildings and places.  People, of course, lie at the heart of that complex equation.’

The School programme includes:

  • Open invitations to the 2024 School’s online launch at our School MarketPlace:LEARN, from 5.00pm on 12 June, free and open to all.
  • The stand-alone Day School on Friday 14 June, accessible online and in-person, opened by English Heritage Chair, Gerard Lemos CMG CBE
  • for Full School delegates (residential and non-residential), School tours, on Thursday 13 June and Saturday 15 June, as well as an opening Reception on the Thursday evening and the Annual Dinner on the Friday.
