The Edinburgh News has reported on an app that is being drawn up by developers on behalf of the city council to create a ‘virtual tenement’, to help bring the city’s stock of crumbing tenements up to standard.

A SPECIAL investigation by the Edinburgh Evening News has revealed the scale of the capital’s crumbling tenements, asffigures obtained from the city council show reports of falling masonry to have risen more than five-fold in ten years.

David Bookbinder, writing in Scottish Housing News, has explored the thorny issue of tenement repairs and offered workable solutions that he believes could save this vital part of Scotland’s community and heritage.
