IHBC welcomes launch of CIOB’s construction Academy

CIOBUnderstanding Building Conservation websiteThe IHBC has welcomed the launch of a new training academy by Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), which is aimed at enhancing excellence and boosting productivity, noting especially that it includes a conservation remit.

IHBC Director Seán O’Reilly said: ‘The IHBC is delighted that the CIOB’s much-anticipated Academy has now come to fruition, while the structured inclusion of conservation within its operations can be warmly welcomed by all of the heritage sector’.

‘We look forward to working with the CIOB as the Academy develops its conservation and heritage interests’.

The CIOB Academy is open to anyone working in the built environment. Courses include digital construction, building conservation and accident investigation and are led by professionals with in-depth industry experience.

There are also courses to help construction professionals increase their personal effectiveness in areas such as contract negotiation, report writing, project planning and contract management.

The Understanding Building Conservation course is being run by IHBC member and Trustee John Edwards
