GII* The Vines pub in Liverpool’s Lime Street – the ‘Big House – could host hostel

The Liverpool Echo reports that the lavish Edwardian pub The Vines is one of Britain’s finest historic pubs, with a lavish interior and now Thomas Kennedy wants to convert long-unused parts of its upper floors into hostel accommodation including 46 beds over eight rooms.

The Grade II*-listed Vines sits opposite the Adelphi Hotel at one end of the ongoing Lime Street redevelopment. The buildings between it and The Crown pub, including the former Futurist cinema, have been demolished to make way for a hotel and student accommodation.
