HEA: latest round of funding opportunities

The Higher Education Academy has announced its latest round of funding opportunities, all now given from one webpage.

The HEA is an independent organisation funded by grants from the four UK higher education funding bodies, subscriptions from higher education institutions, and grant and contract income for specific initiatives.

Aled Williams,?Discipline Lead – Built Environment (Construction, Surveying & Property) writes:

The webpage at http://www.heacademy.ac.uk/funding provides information on the “Workshop and Seminar Series” (offering Calls for thematic and for discipline-based events), on the “Teaching Development Grant (TDG) Scheme” which offers grants for departments at an individual, department and collaborative/across institution or discipline levels, and information on the “Academy’s UK Travel Fund”.

The funding for the Workshop and Seminar series offers funding for an institution to host and deliver an event that looks to disseminate and/or share practice thematically in either Assessment and Feedback (this includes assessment for employability), or Retention and Success. The discipline call invites an institution to host and deliver an event on ‘any’ aspect of learning and teaching in the built environment.  The discipline call remains ‘open’; the thematic call closes on 3rd November 2011.

I would be pleased to hear from anyone – whether as an individual, group (or department) who would wish to consider making a submission under one of these Calls, and to discuss your formative ideas prior to submission.

Finally, you (or colleagues) may be interested in the HEA’s call to register to become an academic associate within the disciplines?  We are looking to identify people with experience in the Construction, Surveying and Property disciplines to work with us on a range of projects (developing resources, production of case studies, running seminars and workshops, supporting institutions to host workshops etc.) The link explains the process for applying to go onto the register, I am happy to respond to any queries
