RICS establishes strategic oversight group for diversity, equity, inclusion etc.

logoRICS has established a strategic oversight group to steer Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives focused on building a culture of accountability and belonging and ensuring the membership and profession better reflect the societies they serve.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) writes:

Kathy Michell MRICS, Governing Council member for Africa, has been appointed as the chair of this group and will be joined by Uche Obi FRICS, Caribbean seat holder, and William Jones FRICS, Southeast Asia seat holder.

The group will also appoint four additional members with extensive experience and expertise in DEI and will work closely with the RICS’ newly appointed Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Nick Maclean FRICS, Interim Governing Council Chair, said:

“RICS must increase efforts to shape a more diverse, equitable and inclusive profession and I am confident Kathy, Uche and Bill will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to deliver positive change for the profession.”

Kathy Michell MRICS, on behalf of the group, said:

“The future of the profession depends on greater commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and we are honoured to be a part of this group and drive positive change for RICS and the communities we serve.”
