Re-join the IHBC before the 2014 School and get your admin fees back (& for ACO)!

Following renewed interest from many former members of The Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) in re-joining, Mike Brown, IHBC Chair, has announced that previous members of the institute OR its predecessor, the Association of Conservation Officers (ACO), will have their administration fee refunded if they re-join before the IHBC’s 2014 Annual School in Edinburgh on 5 June.

Mike Brown said: ‘We’ve had a lot of renewed interest in membership from people who used to be IHBC members, as their finances improve or the status and services of the institute are better appreciated.  We want to give what help we can!’

‘We want to encourage those returning to the IHBC, so we’re saying that we’ll cover the costs of the administration to help them on that path.  The offer is only open until the Annual School starts in Edinburgh though, so those delegates can take advantage of reduced rates for members.  Clearly, now is the time to re-join!’

‘Our administration charges do represent real costs for the organisation, as we post out a big bundle of material and updates.  So while our welcome is loud, and strong, it does not come cheap.  However many former IHBC admirers and supporters have been through the most difficult of times in terms of employment and income, so we see this as a very positive gesture of mutual support for those with renewed interest in our work.’

‘Some will be coming back from our days as the ACO too, as they see a new relevance in IHBC membership, so we’ve also agreed to reimburse the fee to them.’

Claim your administration fee refund when your membership has been reported as having been agreed by IHBC’s Council meeting, by emailing your details to admin@ihbc.org.uk
