IHBC member invitation: Join the Heritage Gateway website development – London 21/22 February – and get an £80 honorarium (almost the full IHBC annual fee after tax relief!)

Heritage Gateway websiteThe IHBC is a co-partner in the Heritage Gateway, the heritage information hub hosted by Historic England, and for the next stage of its development they are looking for historic and built environment consultants to take part in one of a series of focus groups to be held in London on 21 and 22 February, offering £80 to participants (which, coincidently, is almost the same as the full annual fee for IHBC membership, after tax relief and before other concessions and fee-support!)

Historic England writes:

The Heritage Gateway enables you to search across local and national information relating to the historic environment for England. Historic England is recruiting participants for a series of focus groups to help improve the Heritage Gateway and we would like to hear from interested consultants working in archaeology and the historic built environment. Although Heritage Gateway search results are unsuitable for commercial use, we are seeking views and opinions on using the Heritage Gateway to provide initial overview and summary data.

The groups will last for 90 minutes and will take place at a venue in London (London Bridge SE1) on 21 and 22 February 2017.

Your views and opinions would form a valuable part of our research and in appreciation you would be given an incentive of £80.

Event consultants write:

… The discussion will be carried out within the Market Research Society Code of Conduct and the identity of all participants will be kept confidential from the commissioning client.. no findings will be attributed to specific individuals.

Please note that the discussion may also be audio or video recorded. This will be for market research purposes only and cannot be distributed to any third party without your prior knowledge and consent.

The project is purely for research purposes, no selling is involved and you would not be asked to divulge any commercially sensitive information.

We would be delighted to hear from you if you are interested in learning more and potentially participating.
