The Open Doors initiative provides a unique chance to see behind the scenes at major ‘live’ construction sites across England, Scotland and Wales, and runs between 27 March-1 April 2017.
Open Doors sees contractors open live construction sites and offices to the public to showcase the huge variety of careers available in the industry. Sites include Alexandra Palace, Buxton Crescent Spa and Darlington Civic Theatre.
The project seeks to inspire young people and career-changers to consider and explore a career in the construction industry. Last year, 3,000 people visited 138 construction sites across England, Scotland and Wales.
Open Doors is being run by Build UK in partnership with CITB, with support from the Considerate Constructors Scheme, the Construction Skills Certification Scheme and media partner Construction News.
