On 26 March the IHBC, led by Prof. John Edwards, hosted a free one-hour CPD webinar ‘Introduction to Building Survey for Retrofit’ for sector professionals – introducing the broad concepts of retrofit and relevant standards and guidance in advance of a more substantial programme later in the year, and it is now available on YouTube.

The IHBC writes:

As the practice of retrofitting historic and traditional buildings for increased energy efficiency becomes more prevalent, it is crucial to ensure competence in all aspects of the analysis, design, and installation of measures.

… crucial to ensure competence in all aspects…

The IHBC’s Professional Services Officer, Michael Netter, said: ‘We’re very excited to offer this short, informative CPD session where we aim to help our members gain understanding in this extremely important and topical subject.  Booking numbers so far have been outstanding in what I see as a very encouraging sign that our membership is engaged and interested in furthering their professional development.  We’re looking forward to producing more like it in due course.’

Mr. Edwards says: ‘It’s important that individuals understand how to go about improving the energy performance of traditional and historic buildings and how to move from one stage to the next.

Delegates who wish to learn more, or obtain a qualification in the subject, may enrol in the Retrofit of Traditional Buildings 2 day course with a Level 3 Award Qualification.’
