IHBC’s call for data to inform listed Stockport Carnegie library’s future

Stockport Heritage Trust is appealing to IHBC members to hear of any listed public libraries in their towns and cities that are being retained and improved, rather than closed and services moved to new or other buildings.

IHBC member John Fidler is helping a campaign in Stockport, Greater Manchester, to stop the local borough council from closing a Grade II Listed Edwardian (Carnegie-funded) Central Public Library.

John writes:

The Stockport Heritage Trust is helping and appealing to IHBC members to let us know of any listed public libraries in their towns and cities that are being retained and improved, rather than closed and services moved to new or other buildings.
