Don’t forget the IHBC’s (FREE) jewels for #IHBC25: No. 6 – HESPR

logoTo mark the IHBC’s 25th anniversary our NewsBlog service is looking back – and forward – to celebrate some of the free ‘jewels’ that help members and colleagues contribute to our charitable objects, here featuring ‘HESPR’, our ‘Historic Environment Service Provider Recognition’ business listing: ‘Connecting client needs & heritage expertise’.

… vastly upgraded but still low-cost service supports some 50 members…

IHBC Director Seán O’Reilly said: ‘HESPR was launched in June 2008 and, tentatively, titled as a ‘Promotional Service for Conservation Practices’.

‘Operating as a quality assurance programme for commercial operations, it boasted our trading arm IHBC Enterprises among its opening sign-ups.  Today the vastly upgraded but still low-cost service supports some 50 members, ranging from sole traders to big businesses, all in line with our original plan to address needs across all such service profiles.

‘The suite of listing and promotion, support services for members include a weekly News and Tender Alert, with opportunities often in the millions of pounds; a free annual IHBC Jobs etc posting – which can be delegated to a network or client, especially valuable for sole traders – and special opportunities for engagement with our members and networks, including forthcoming privileged places linked to our 2023 Annual School in Swansea: #IHBCSwansea2023.

‘The wider signposting of HESPR also includes links on our Home Page; twice weekly updates across our NewsBlogs, as well as web signposting by others, including that by Historic England as well as our own ‘Caring for your Home’ guidance for general users. These are the kinds of special support HESPR members especially value.
