To mark the IHBC’s 25th anniversary in #IHBC25 our NewsBlog service is looking back – and forward – as we celebrate some of the free ‘jewels’ that help members and colleagues contribute to our charitable objects, with the post this week featuring our Events Calendar.

IHBC Director Seán O’Reilly said: ‘From well before 2013 our digital platforms were showing they could offer critical solutions to how we might support a thinly-spread membership operating across the UK and beyond, taking account of cost and member needs.’

‘In January 2013, that broad strategy coalesced in the first recognisable CPD-focussed online Events Calendar posting. In true IHBC-mode, that also included (and includes) a searchable archive to inform personal CPD and training plans and priorities.’

‘Since then, the events calendar service has evolved symbiotically alongside the IHBC’s HESPR and ‘Recognised CPD Provider’ services.’

‘Indeed cross-fertilisation between the strands increasing exponentially over time, helped by a joined-up management approach led by our Professional Services Officer Michael Netter.  This means that our CPD Circular can be the hub that ties these and other threads together into a practical, accessible and cost-effective service for members and stakeholder users’.
