Branch Liaison Officer prompts IHBC local networks for nominations for ‘Retired Member’ Marsh Award – closing 31 March

One of the IHBC Marsh Awards celebrates civic contributions by retired members, and offers £500 cash and a place at IHBC’s Swansea 2023 School, so our Liaison Officer is supporting our Branch network in promoting nominations.

… a special opportunity to highlight local civic and community benefits…

Jude Wheeler, Branch Liaison & Volunteer Support Officer said: ‘This celebratory awards programme operates in a partnership with the Marsh Charitable Trust, with separate awards recognising successful heritage learning and the ongoing contributions by IHBC members to the public good after they have retired from professional practice.’

Being of a certain age, encouraging our Branches to nominate a retired member it is one of my favourite remits!  The ‘Retired members’ Award offers Branches a special opportunity to highlight local civic and community benefits brought by those retired members still active in their communities.’

‘The nomination process is simple and I am also here to help!  It also offers a great opportunity to recognise and celebrate the work of someone who has helped their community using their experience, expertise, and knowledge of conservation skills.’

‘As well as the cash award – which also can be donated – there is the added incentive this year of an invitation to the winners to attend the IHBC’s 2023 Annual School in Swansea, including accommodation, where Awards will be presented at the dinner on 23 June.’
