 The IHBC writes:

IHBC’s Council, the Institute’s inclusive advisory and training body will hold its fifth meeting online on 30 March from 2pm.

The Council’s complementary purposes – to train members of all categories and so support effective and beneficial participation in their institute – are as usual reflected in the unique programme of recognised IHBC CPD on offer.

CPD themes in this Council include:

  • the background to, update and launch of our formal consultation on a prospective petition by the IHBC for a Charter
  • the election of a Vice President and Vice Chair of Council, following Rebecca Thompson’s expression of interest in the role and
  • practice and training updates and observations from the IHBC and our Branches.

IHBC Council, 30 March 2023: CPD Statement

IHBC Council meetings support member learning and engagement with our governance and services.

This first Council of 2023 will help delegates understand better the process and values of the unique regulatory process of a Royal Charter, including prospective impacts on the IHBC as a charity and professional body.  It will underpin particularly the ‘Professional’ Area of Competence in the  IHBC’s Conservation Cycle, and the IHBC’s Competences of ‘Professional’ and ‘Practice’.
