IHBC Chair David McDonald writes:

I am writing to confirm the programme for our 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The full programme of IHBC CPD for the AGM will open at 5.30pm with a talk by Dr Robyn Pender entitled ‘Taming the elephant in the room: ‘Why exactly are we using so much energy in buildings in the first place?’

Dr Pender recently retired from the Building Climate Adaptation Team at Historic England, having been a Senior Building Conservation Advisor there and at English Heritage since 2005. Robyn is currently a Director at the ‘climate emergency’ training and research consultancy, Whethergauge. You can find more background to her work and presentation on our NewsBlog update HERE.

The AGM will follow at 6.00pm. As the AGM is a critical moment in our cycle of governance, all categories of membership are strongly encouraged to attend.

Members will also be asked to vote on the proposals in the Resolution linked to the next steps in our exploration of a Petition for Charter as outlined in the ‘Covering Report

The AGM Agenda… includes links to the Trustees’ Report and Financial statement for the year ending 30 September 2022 and personal statements from the three newly nominated trustees.

At the meeting, our accredited members – that is Associates, Full Members and Retired – will vote on the appointment of Trustees to the Board following an uncontested election, in line with our new Articles

Those being appointed for a second three year term are as follows:

  • David McDonald – Chair
  • Lone Le Vay – Vice Chair
  • Jillian Kerry – Treasurer
  • Jo Evans – IHBC Secretary
  • Andrew Shepherd – Trustee
  • Sheila Stones – Trustee

Those being appointed for the first time are:

  • Kathryn Moore – Trustee for Wales
  • Katie Parsons – Trustee
  • Shantanu Subramaniam – Trustee

PROXY VOTING: All voting members (Full, Associate and Retired) are encouraged to vote in advance of the AGM using our proxy forms – Short or Long – in case of non-attendance or technical issues during the online AGM. Proxy arrangements close at 12 noon on 30 April 2024. The links to the proxy forms are shown above and below.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • The IHBC’s Annual General Meeting is open exclusively to IHBC members
