‘…understanding and improving how we work with buildings and places.  People, of course, lie at the heart of that complex equation…’

Gerard Lemos CMG CBE, Chair of English Heritage, said: ‘I am looking forward to the IHBC Annual School. I was delighted to see ‘People’ as one of this year’s themes and I’ll be interested in exploring the important role heritage plays within local communities.’

IHBC Chair David McDonald said: ‘Having the Chair of one of the most substantial heritage estate holders in England at our School is wonderful news at any time, but this year it is especially relevant for our focus on understanding and improving how we work with buildings and places.  People, of course, lie at the heart of that complex equation.’

IHBC Director Seán O’Reilly said: ‘Adding English Heritage to the broad sweep of partners supporting our Reading School is especially good news, as they extend from our main School sponsor MFL – representing insurance – to the National Trust as one of many bodies supporting our School tours, and of course both RTPI’s South East region and the key heritage network leading sustainable property management, Fit for the Future, as ‘Friends of the School’, speaking on the morning and afternoon sessions of the Day School on 14 June.
