IHBC Wales hosts first post-pandemic AGM, with new Committee and plans

IHBC Wales Branch members of all categories were invited to the first AGM since the pandemic, on 11 May, held virtually, which offered free CPD updates from the IHBC and Cadw, and successfully elected its new Branch committee.

… just the sort of accessible and authoritative CPD that we will be sure to continue…

Following the Wales Branch Chair James Drew said: ‘I’m delighted we’ve been able to conclude this long-delayed Branch AGM.  I’m also very grateful that IHBC Chair David McDonald and IHBC member Jill Fairweather, of Cadw, could provided our excellent turnout of delegates with updates the AGM, and address questions after.  David and Jill combined just the sort of accessible and authoritative CPD that we will be sure to continue into our evolving events programme.

I’d also like to thank our new committee members and volunteers for coming forward to help get this moving.  As with any IHBC Branch, it’s all about the volunteers as well as the members.  So if any Branch members – of any membership category – have an interest in contributing to our efforts, in any areas, please do let us know by contacting Jude Wheeler in the first instance, at support@ihbc.org.uk.

Indeed Jude Wheeler, in her new role as the Support Officer on behalf of the IHBC’s National Office, has made all the difference in getting the Wales Branch committee to a place where it can move forward with renewed vigour.’

‘The big challenge now is to get the 2023 IHBC Swansea School in place, led by our Branch Board member John Edwards, so again let us know if you’d like to help out in the School Committee’.

Jude says ‘It was a pleasure working with the acting committee, and lovely to see new faces – if virtually – at the AGM.  This an exciting time for the Branch, reconnecting after the pandemic, and I hope to be able to meet members in person at one of the events to be organised in Wales’.
