IHBC’s new online ‘Training’ resource sets scene for Branch CPD Training Pilot launch and more

After a well-received IHBC Branch Committee consultation, the IHBC has launched a new training webpage to underpin the upgrade of our pre-COVID Local Delivery (Branch) CPD training pilot and consolidate current training support while setting the stage for forthcoming initiatives.

… suggest potential topics for the Branch CPD Training Pilot…

Anna Hart IHBC, the Institute’s Education, Training and Application Support Officer, and lead on the new resource, said: ‘I am delighted that we can now share this new online training resource with IHBC members and networks. Not only does it provide an in-depth overview of the IHBC’s Branch CPD Training Pilot – which has been met with overwhelming positivity from regional branches across the UK – the new resource also highlights a variety of highly valuable training and CPD opportunities, that can support members in a very practical sense.’

Anyone who would like to suggest potential topics for the Branch CPD Training Pilot is invited to contact me at training@ihbc.org.uk, so I can add them to our evolving list of suggestions for review.

Anna writes:

The page serves as a hub for the existing Branch CPD Training Pilot, with information for branches and members on current priority topics and speakers, including how the National branch can offer support to regional branches and how the pilot will operate on a practical level.

We are also in the process of exploring options to add more priority CPD topics to the training pilot, which currently includes conservation engineering, curtilage and retrofit, and we welcome feedback from members on which topic they would find most beneficial, so that we can ensure the initiative continues to support Branches in delivering local and accessible training on agreed priority areas.

… webpage also serves as a link to other training and CPD opportunities…

The new webpage also serves as a link to other training and CPD opportunities helping to direct members to a wealth of resources that can both reinforce and develop their existing skillset.

Users will find links there to the IHBC Self Starter resources, which form part of an existing comprehensive toolkit for practitioners, as well as links to the CPD Event calendar and the IHBC’s CPD Circular.

Existing members who are considering applying for full membership will also find a link on the new training page, to book a place on one of the forthcoming MATE sessions enabling them to access advice and guidance on completing and submitting their full membership application.
