IHBC at the Natural Stone Show? Naturally… 25-7 April, packed with CPD and free!

The IHBC will host its regular stand at the Natural Stone Show’s Conservation Area in April, in London’s ExCel, so please be sure to visit us there, and remember that this busy event also offers lots of free CPD including a dedicated Conservation Day, Thursday 27 April, themed on ‘Authenticity and appearance in repair’.

IHBC Director Sean O’Reilly said; ‘The Natural Stone Show offers the IHBC another great chance to promote the work of our members, alongside our standards and services.  And as ever we are hugely grateful to Historic England for offering us this opportunity to join with them and other like-minded conservation organisations in the Conservation Area there!’

‘We have lots to pass on to Stone Show delegates about our work, from well-established services such as our listing of conservation businesses through IHBC’s HESPR, to new services such as our Conservation Wiki web platform and our Marsh Awards – for both retired IHBC members active in the community and for ‘successful heritage learning’.  And that is before we get to highlighting core services such as the accreditation of our members’ inter-disciplinary skills and the benefits of IHBC membership.’

‘With a dedicated Conservation Day, on Thursday 27 April, themed on ‘Authenticity and appearance in repair’ and led by Historic England and the English Stone Forum, the programme is hugely relevant to both the generalist and the most specialist interests of our members.’

‘And it is all free… except for getting there of course.’

The Stone Show 2017 writes:

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Natural Stone Show remains the only UK exhibition and conference dedicated to natural stone. Thousands of architects, designers, developers, stonemasons, wholesalers and retailers will flock to London’s ExCeL this April to see exhibitors from across the globe and enjoy 3 days of seminars; each seeking inspiration and advice for their next stone project.

Historic England and the English Stone Forum will oversee day three of the Natural Stone & Building Conservation Conference.

The free to attend Conservation Day takes place on Thursday 27 April 2017 with seminars addressing the selection and sourcing of stone for conservation projects. Speakers will discuss findings from a range of research projects focusing on specialist stone-related issues and the efforts being made to safeguard the UK’s built heritage.
