Practitioners from the widest construction and development sectors will access a key IHBC resource more readily as our new joint ‘Conservation Professional Practice Principles’ – co-authored with HTVF and the Civic Voice – has been posted on the IHBC’s Conservation Wiki, offering direct access to Designing Buildings Wiki’s 3 million users a year!
At the launch of the ‘Practice Principles’ at the institute’s 2017 Annual School IHBC Chair James Caird said: ‘I’m delighted that we have produced this new joint statement on conservation practice, as it marks a whole new level of support for conservation by the IHBC.’
‘Prepared collectively by the IHBC, the Historic Towns and Villages Forum and Civic Voice – the membership of which includes built environment professionals, developers, local civic and community organisations, local authorities, professional firms, and other heritage interests – it can serve as the critical cross-sector statement on the interdisciplinary practice of built and historic environment conservation today.’
IHBC Director Seán O’Reilly said: ‘Publication of our joint ‘Practice Principles’ on the IHBC’s Conservation Wiki means that the Designing Buildings Wiki’s 3 million or so users a year can have much easier access to this key document in conservation practice, and even discover its value when using the simplest of online searches.’
