IHBC Director Seán O’Reilly said: ‘Manchester 2017 was a great Annual School, hosted and led so well by our North West Branch volunteers.  Delegates were informed, engaged and above all inspired by the rapidly changing landscape of transport infrastructure on our historic environment.’

‘These videos of the Day School, now available on our YouTube Channel, were carried out by Luke Unsworth and represent a great new resource for our members, colleagues and the wider public that could not attend.’

‘This way the IHBC, our supporters and sponsors, continue to break down barriers to the kind of heritage learning that can really make a difference.’

IHBC Support Officer Carla Pianese said: ‘The Day School explored the latest development and significance of historic transport infrastructure and the impact of new infrastructure on historic environment in 4 themes on Railways, Water, Roads and Air.’

‘The later videos (no. 10 and 11) introduce ‘Spotlight on Practice’ with brief presentations introducing current issues in conservation, while the last video, No. 12, gives you a taste of the next 2018 Annual School in Belfast’.
